FC Bayern HackDays – 19. – 22. Januar in Allianz Arena – Munich
4 intensive days – 46 new projects, 226 participants, 7 sponsors and a tremendous number of new impulses.
The main organizer of the #FCBayernHackDays was FC Bayern München AG, co-organized by UnternehmerTUM Projekt GmbH.
The goal of this event was coming up with solutions for “Advance the fan experience by using latest technologies and digital media”.
The FC Bayern HackDays were kicked off by Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Stefan Mennerich on Friday morning 9 o’clock talking about the tradition of FC Bayern Munich and how to reach, engage and build a relationship to a fan and create revenue. All 6 main sponsors (SAP, Adidas, Audi, DHL, Siemens, Telekom) and FC Bayern presented their individual challenges – our SAP challenge was: Fan Engagement 4.0
After some group and idea finding on Friday afternoon, the Hackathon started with hacking until Monday morning … all 46 teams were busy coding, thinking and working hard on their projects. Even the live match FCB against Werder Bremen did not make some of the teams leave what they were trying to achieve.
The passion and motivation of the participants was truly amazing.
On Sunday evening, all 6 SAP challenge teams presented their ideas internally to the mentors for a final rehearsal and this was more than PowerPoint slides. All of our 6 SAP challenge teams were able to easily build in SAP and SAP Hybris software as the core into their solutions, such as SAP Hybris Profile and SAP Hybris Marketing but there were also integrations to Twitter, AI and face detection, AR, and block chain.
The fresh snow in Munich over this weekend was a bigger challenge, but this is another story….
Monday was the day of the days and the challenge internal winners were selected after presenting their ideas to the entire crowd within 3 minutes.
All challenge winners battled against each other for the final award.
At the end, SAP “FanCoin” has won the second award over all.
As part of the SAP challenge we have been mentoring our SAP team, happy to support with 9 mentors for the full spectrum of what’s necessary to create a convincing project within 3,5 days.
From the Hybris Labs team we had Lars Gregori and Anja Wilbert (Storytelling, UI/UX, presentation) mentoring. Denise Wildner (Design Thinking), Sebastian Mahr and Jochen Scherschmidt supported for SAP Hybris Profile integration.
Denise Wildner (Design Thinking):
It was a pleasure to join the FC Bayern Hackdays. The venue (Allianz Arena) is special and we almost felt like VIPs occupying the event boxes for 4 intense days of hacking. The atmosphere was very tense, but also open and friendly.
The attendees were very interested and willing to take our support, no matter if it was related to design, coding or presentation. It made it a lot of fun mentoring the teams! It is a great opportunity for SAP to get more visibility. Maybe we did (accidently) acquire the one or the other new employee, too. 😉
Lars Gregori (Hybris Labs):
These have been four exciting days with a great SAP team, wonderful location at Allianz Arena, engaged participants, and a 4:2 against Werder Bremen. Maybe Thomas Müller’s 100th goal will be available as FanCoin.
The FCBHackathon was an event in a unique and creative atmosphere, which will be an unforgettable experience for every single participant.
